What to Do

Ho Chi Minh City Hall was first known as the Hotel de Ville when it was completed in 1908. It was drew inspiration from town halls in Europe. Actually, this building is closed to the public as it is an official Vietnamese government building. But, it's a beautiful French Colonial architecture and sunny cream yellow hue, along with its iconic statue of Ho Chi Minh, make it a tourist fovorite and a symbol of Ho Chi Minh City. Anyway, I forget to tell you that this building is located at one end of Nguyen Hue Boulevard on The Le Thanh Ton Street, a brisk walk away from Dong Khoi Street.

Finish taking picture around Ho Chi Minh City Hall, I walk to Hard Rock cafe to buy some t-shirt for souvenirs. From this hall, Hard Rock Cafe only 800 metres away and need 10 minutes walk. Not only cafe and souvenir shop, in Hard Rock you can also find hotel. Maybe some of you are going to spent night in this hotel, this hotel is recommended also.

Moving on to the next destination, I walk to Notre Dame Cathedral which located only 200 metres from Hard Rock Cafe. This building is one of the few ramaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddist Vietnam. Notre Dame Cathedral was built in the late 1880s by French colonists and located in Paris Square. This cathedral has 60 metres in high, stained glass windows, two bell towers which containing six bronze bells that still ring until this day and a beautiful garden.

Next the cathedral, you'll find the the Saigon Post Office. This post office was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century. This building is very beautiful and perhaps the grandest post office in all Southeast Asia.

In the evening, I walk around Pham Ngu Lao Street while looking a place for dinner. Anyway, this street is a street where you can see some famous buildings above. It's very crowded in the evening, you'll meet many travelers from around the world cross this street. After that, I move to Bui Vien Street for dinner. Seems like Pham Ngu Lao Street, this street also a paradise for many travelers because you can find anything around here. Restaurants, cafe, or bars are available here.
